AlcoholEdu & Haven
Illinois College provides two comprehensive programs: alcohol prevention and sexual assault awareness. AlcoholEdu is a non-opinionated alcohol prevention program used on over 500 campuses nationwide. The course uses science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. Whether a student drinks or not, AlcoholEdu for College will empower you to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help you better cope with the drinking behavior of your peers. Haven is the premier online program addressing the critical issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment – among students, faculty and staff.
Second Chance Program
Second Chance is an alcohol-screening program developed to assist students who have had problems associated with alcohol. This program is modeled after BASICS, Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students. This is a proactive program that teaches students to identify risky behaviors and methods to decrease potential harm to themselves and others. Students are referred to the Second Chance Program after their second alcohol infraction per the Illinois College Alcohol Policy. Students can also self-refer to the program if concerned about their own drinking behavior. The health services professional staff administers this program.
