READY, Set, Go! Registration Day Student Schedule :: Wednesday, August 21, 2019

BEFORE READY, Set, Go! Be sure to login to Connect2 to:

  • Choose the first-year seminar and courses that you are most interested in. It’s the only way we can have a tentative schedule ready for your registration appointment.
  • Complete the math and language placement tests. They must be done before you will be able to be scheduled for courses in these areas.

Welcome to campus! We will get you ready for a great day! 

  • Financial Responsibility – IC is committed to helping you understand the best solution for financing your college education. We’ll review your information with you and see if you have any questions about your financial plan. 
  • READY, Set, Go! – Check-in and pick up your name tag and individual log-in information for READY, Set, Go! 
  • Schedule – Stop here to get your schedule for the day. 
  • Finish in 4 – Learn what you need to do to be eligible for this program to ensure you graduate in four years. 
  • Health Services – Find out whether you have completed the required steps and submitted the proper health information. 
  • Student Identification Card Photos – Now that you’re a part of the IC family, you will need an ID card! If you’ve submitted a photo in advance, we’ll have your ID ready for you when move-in. If you haven’t already submitted it, we’ll show you where to report to get it taken care of. 
  • Moving In? – If you are moving into your residence hall today, stop at the “Moving In?” table to get a pass for your vehicle. 

9:15 to 11 a.m.  |  Move-in for August READY, Set, Go! Students | Residence Hall Lobbies 

Once you have checked in at Bruner, if you have not already moved into your residence hall room, this will be the time to do so. The Welcome Crew will help with your belongings and the residential life staff will welcome you and direct you to your room. After unloading, please move your vehicle to the first-year student parking lot directly east of the football field to make space for others to unload.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  | Lunch Available | Cummings Dining Hall

Be sure to take time to grab a bite to eat in our dining hall. Students will need to bring their new ID card to check- in.

1:30 to 1:45 p.m. | Welcome to Illinois College | Kirby Learning Center 6

Welcome to the IC family! You will learn about the day’s schedule and start making connections. 

1:45 to 2:30 p.m. | The First-Year Experience: Framing the Purpose of an IC Education | Kirby Learning Center 6

The first year MATTERS! We’ll talk about WHY. Just learning job skills is not enough. The First-Year Experience helps students to become learners and active members of our community. You will also review the details of this year’s summer reading and note-taking assignment. 

2:45 to 4:10 p.m. | Registration Appointment and “Getting Involved and Connected” Sessions | You will divide into small groups and be led by your Connections Leader to each of these sessions. Check your group letter assigned at check-in to see which group you will be with.

Fall Course Registration Students will meet one-on-one with a registration advisor to select or review classes for the fall semester. We encourage you to take the opportunity to ask questions and make sure you know what to expect for the fall and beyond. 

Getting Involved and Connected Students who are involved on campus are more likely to get good grades, more likely to graduate, more likely to build skills employers want, and more likely to make phenomenal college memories! Learn details about the Center for Student Involvement and how the first year matters! Explore student organizations, leadership and diversity programs, literary societies, and more. A few of our Connections Leaders will serve as panelists and share their stories with you! 

4:15 to 4:30 p.m. | Wrap-up and Check-out Process | Kirby Learning Center 6

Everyone will meet together at the end of the day to learn the next steps to prepare you for the start of Welcome Week tomorrow. We’ll collect your feedback form from the day!

5 to 7 p.m. | Dinner Available | Cummings Dining Hall

Join us to eat! You will need to bring your student ID card. After dinner residential students should make sure to get settled in your room. If you have any questions, please contact the Residential Life staff in your hall. You can also reach out to a Connections Leader if you need any help! 

Don’t forget! You will still need to check-in for Welcome Week tomorrow, Thursday, August 22, between 9 a.m. and 12 noon in Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center.
