READY, Set, Go! Family Schedule :: April 13, 2019

BEFORE READY, Set, Go! Be sure that your student has logged in to Connect2 to:

  • Choose the learning communities and courses they are most interested in. It's the only way we can have a tentative schedule ready for your student's registration appointment.
  • Complete the math and language placement tests. They must be done before your student will be able to be registered for courses in these areas.

Welcome to campus! Get ready for great day!

  • READY, Set, Go! - Check-in at the main table first to get your updated schedule and nametag. Before your student meets with their registration advisor, take a few moments to complete the Advising Information sheet to help them think about their academic goals.
  • Financial Responsibility - IC is committed to helping you understand the best solution for financing your student's college education. We'll review your information with you and see if you have any questions about your financial plan.
  • Student Identification Card Photos - Now that they're a part of the IC family, your student will need an ID card! Students will receive their printed ID card on move-in day in August.
  • Finish In 4 - Learn what your student needs to do to be eligible for this program to ensure they graduate in four years.
  • Health Services - Find out whether your student has completed the required steps and submitted the proper health information.

11 to 11:45 a.m. | The First-Year Experience: Framing the Purpose of an IC Education

The first year MATTERS! We’ll talk about WHY. Learning job skills are not enough. The First-Year Experience helps students to become learners and active members of our community. You will also receive the details on this year’s summer reading assignment.

11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. | Lunch Buffet

All students and family members will enjoy a lunch together.

1:15 to 4:10 p.m. | Family Information Sessions

You will divide into two groups and be led by your Connections Leader to each of these four sessions. Check your group letter assigned at check-in to see which group you will be with.

You’ll learn about the many ways to get involved on campus and be challenged to think about the best ways to enter this time of family transition.

BLUEprint General Education Program, Student Financial Services, Connect2 Parent Portal

How does the IC BLUEprint general education program help your student become a learner? Review the plan to understand how it’s the foundation to your student’s success. Financing your student’s education is also a major responsibility. Find out how family members access their student’s information. Also, get your questions answered on the when, where and how to pay your student’s bill.

Everyone will need to meet together at the end of the day to learn the next steps to get your student ready for Welcome Week in the fall. Make sure they know what to look for from the College over the summer. We'll also collect your feedback form from the day!

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. | Student-Athlete Meeting (required for all student-athletes and their families only)

Student-athletes will meet with a representative from the athletics department to complete a few forms that are required to be able to compete in intercollegiate athletics at Illinois College. We ask that everyone please bring their health insurance card, or a picture of the front and back of their card, as well as their cell phone with them to this session.

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. | (Optional) Campus Tours

Take an in-depth campus tour and learn about campus. The tour will provide you with great insights into your student's campus experience.
