Bio

Finlay is a certified public accountant (CPA) with 30 years of experience in business management and executive leadership. He comes to Illinois College from Quincy, Illinois, where he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Quincy University. Prior to this, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois in Champaign. Finlay was a member of two National Champion Livestock Judging teams.

Through his education and experience, Finlay’s business career has resulted in progressively increased responsibilities becoming an executive leader with broad responsibilities in the areas of accounting, finance, business development, mergers/acquisitions, and strategy within the agribusiness, healthcare, and higher education industries. During the last three years, he has been teaching in higher education in the areas of accounting, agribusiness, general business, and finance. He has been active in community leadership by serving as chairman of the Great River Economic Development Foundation, president of Cornerstone in Quincy, treasurer of the Industrial Association of Quincy, and currently serves on the Adams County Board and on the Deacon Board of Columbus Road Baptist Church. He resides in the Quincy, Illinois area with his wife Joni. They have three grown children and enjoy raising Angus cattle.
