Bio

Aasne Daniels has worked professionally in New York City and Chicago, on stage and as an audiobook voiceover artist.  A certified yoga teacher, Professor Daniels finds the "mind-breath-body" connection in yoga an invaluable tool for actors, and she encourages her students to explore that connection as they prepare roles for Illinois College TheatreWorks productions and in the classroom.

Working on the spring '18 musical, The Robber Bridegroom, was a treat. The students and the choreographer and I all collaborated to devise choreography that was inspired by traditional square dance and other folk dances, but with a fresh, spontaneous and completely individualistic quality. It was great to see how each actor would take ownership of the choreography when it was of their own imagining.
