Open house to highlight campus renovations

10.14.2019

Crispin Hall and Lincoln Hall will be open for visitors to tour during Homecoming on Saturday, October 26, 3-4 p.m.

When students returned to campus to begin classes in August, they found exciting changes waiting for them.

Both Lincoln and Crispin Hall were updated over the summer. The HUB in Lincoln Hall now houses several departments on campus including the Campus Writing Center, Career Readiness and Experiential Learning, Center for Academic Excellence, Chesley Health and Wellness Center, the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Religious and Spiritual Life.

The receipt of a $2.1 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education inspired the update to Lincoln Hall. The grant builds on IC’s hands-on approach to student success in five key areas: scholarships, campus, technology, academic coaching, professional development and the creation of a learning HUB in Lincoln.

Built in 1963, Crispin was updated for the first time ever in summer 2019. The Phase I renovations, funded by donors, remodeled the auditorium and foyer. The completion of Phase II of Crispin is a priority of Inspiring Achievement: The Campaign for Illinois College. This work will expand lab and classroom spaces for psychology, mathematics, physics and computer science. These resources are vital for the College to remain competitive in recruiting and retaining talented students.
