MacMurray Transfers in Nursing

Our program was established with guidance from local leaders in healthcare, including Memorial Health System and Passavant Area Hospital, and faculty from the MacMurray nursing program. Learn more about pursuing your nursing degree at Illinois College at www.ic.edu/nursing

All MacMurray students are eligible for transfer benefits designed to maximize the number of transferable credits, ease the transition and financial burden for students and ensure they graduate on time.

All students in good academic and social standing at MacMurray College will be accepted. IC has even pledged to match all out-of-pocket costs that you planned on at MacMurray. Learn more about our simplified transfer process.

For nursing students specifically, the curriculum has been carefully mapped to make the transition to IC seamless. Nursing students:

  • Entering your senior year (87 credit hours or more by the end of spring semester) are eligible for a Teach-Out plan* which allows you to finish in the same amount of time as planned. IC’s biomedical ethics course requirement will be waived for qualifying students.
  • Entering your junior year will be required to meet all IC requirements for the nursing major, but will graduate on time.
  • Entering your sophomore year will follow the IC curriculum and work closely with faculty to meet all requirements.
