Add to Calendar 1/25/2026 03:00 PM 1/25/2026 03:00 PM America/Chicago Fine Arts Series :: TRIO MEDIÆVAL <p><strong>TRIO MEDIÆVAL :: Sunday, January 25, 2026 :: 3 PM</strong><br><br>Formed in 1997, Trio Mediæval consists of founding members Linn Andrea Fuglseth and Anna Maria Friman, and Jorunn Lovise Husan who joined the group in 2018. Hailed as a “fascinating journey with music of timeless beauty”, Trio Mediæval’s highly acclaimed first disc “Words of the Angel” (2001) launched the group into the elite circles of early music ensembles and introduced them to a broad international audience &nbsp;A typical Trio Mediæval programme combines their many varied strands of musical exploration: historically informed performance of medieval sacred music, folk music (adapted and arranged by members of the group); contemporary Nordic jazz; specially commissioned works; improvisation with or without instruments.</p><p>Trio Mediæval has toured extensively in Europe and USA, and has visited Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, and Australia. The group has performed in a variety of venues and has been invited to appear on the most prestigious stages in the world, including Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Vienna Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. &nbsp;This will be the first time they appear on our Fine Arts Series.</p><h3>Fine Arts Series Ticket Information:</h3><p>Adult season tickets are available for $70, which is a $20 savings over purchasing tickets individually. Adult tickets to individual concerts are available for $20 per concert, except for the family programs on Oct. 20 and Mar. 13, when adult tickets will be just $5. Tom Irwin is a highly respected and beloved singer-songwriter, well-known to audiences of all ages throughout central Illinois and beyond. This One for the Kiddos performance is based on his book of the same name, an illustrated, “singalong, playalong” songbook featuring songs by Tom, with a co-write by Amy Battles, and a version of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land,” plus artwork by Kevin Atterberry, released in 2025. At this performance, Tom and Amy will perform the songs live, including interaction with “kiddos” of all ages, for a fun, informative and entertaining evening.
