Bio
Shawna Merrill leads the competitive Debate & Speech Team, and she teaches courses in Public Speaking, Argumentation & Debate, and Business Communication. She enjoys working with students who are new to debate and helping them develop their research and critical thinking skills, which sets a foundation for discovering passions and advocacy opportunities. She has worked with Chicago Debates (formerly the Chicago Urban Debate League) and uses a highly individualized approach to reach students from different backgrounds and skill levels.
