Research Interests
My specialties include Agriculture, Animal Sciences with a specialty in pigs. I use my knowledge and experience to assist with the development of successful pig production systems in Southeast Asia, specifically in the country of Laos, P. D. R. There is and will be a tremendous need for an affordable, safe, and wholesome protein source to feed the people of Laos.

Bio

Dr. Galle earned his Ph.D. in Animal Science from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign and has more than forty years’ experience as an animal science professor at John Wood Community College. He was awarded Professor Emeritus status by JWCC upon his retirement from the college in the summer of 2010 and continued to teach part-time every year since his retirement.

He joined the Illinois College community in the Fall of 2020 as an adjunct faculty member, and in January 2021 became a Professor of the Agribusiness Management Program. He was appointed as a member of the National Pork Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. He has been and continues to be a leader not only for Global Pork Production Enterprises, Ltd., but also the U. S. Pork Industry. He is the Founder and President of GPPE, Ltd. His responsibilities are all inclusive from overseeing all aspects of project creation, procurement, strategic planning, implementation, and project monitoring to the general oversight of all operations.

Jeff most enjoys the time spent with students, guiding them through internships and seeing their personal growth in knowledge of all things in the business of pork.
