Jennifer Tygret
Dr. Tygret is passionate about helping to develop highly-effective educators for the next generation, and she grounds her teaching in the belief that positive relationships with students are the key to education. She is a fully-remote professor for IC's online education programs, teaching foundations of literacy, writing, elementary methods, classroom management, and student teaching. Her research interests include best practices in teacher preparation, mentoring in higher education, and the postdoctoral scholar experience. She has presented at numerous national and international education conferences, and her work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, including Education Research: Theory and Practice; The Journal of Further and Higher Education; Mentoring and Tutoring; The International Journal of Mentoring and Coaching in Education; and The New Educator.
What do you enjoy most about working with students?
"I love building positive relationships with students and being a part of their journey to becoming teachers. Getting to teach and mentor them during the licensure program is such an exciting opportunity."
