Mission Possible: Securing Funding for Experiential Learning Opportunities

Date and Time
Monday, 2/11/2019 - 11:00am
Location
Crispin Hall, Room 220
Event Description

Experiential Learning opportunities like study abroad, internships, faculty-student research, community engaged service learning and BreakAways abound but, finding a way to pay the bills can seem like an uphill battle. Some opportunities come with funding but even those often require an out-of-pocket commitment. The good news is dollars are allocated to support students in these efforts. This event will help students be aware of the funding possibilities and submit a competitive application.

This session will introduce students to the funding support options that exist. Speakers will:

  • Review the types of experiential learning experiences that can qualify for funding
  • Provide an overview of funding sources available on campus
  • Introduce faculty and staff that can provide guidance, support and coaching during the application process
  • Identify best practices to build competitive applications
