12.04.2017

St. Louis Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny will speak on the Illinois College campus on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center in Sherman Gymnasium.

Matheny is well known for his 13-year career as a player in Major League Baseball, including five years with the Cardinals. He returned to St. Louis as a rookie manager in 2012 following the team’s 2011 World Series win.

Matheny is an experienced speaker who will captivate the audience with stories from his exciting career and an “inside the clubhouse” look at the team and what to expect in 2018. Audience members will also gain insight into Matheny’s coaching philosophy, his passion for youth sports and his dedication to community service.

The evening will include a Q&A session with Matheny and the chance to bid on Cardinals memorabilia during a silent auction.

General admission tickets are $10 each in advance and can be purchased at County Market in Jacksonville, at the IC Store or online. Tickets will also be available for $15 each at the door on the day of the event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and children five and under will be admitted free of charge.
