Bio

David Walter has been admitted to the Illinois bar since 1998 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He has litigation experience in approximately thirty Illinois Circuit Courts, the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois. He has also practiced before the Illinois Pollution Control Board, Illinois Civil Service Commission, Illinois Department of Human Rights, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Mr. Walter has tried cases before juries in both Illinois and federal courts. He has represented numerous law enforcement officers over the years, including those of the Illinois State Police, Department of Corrections, and Prisoner Review Board, as well as physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, and chaplains working in the prison and jail setting. His experience includes constitutional, environmental, tort, employment, and administrative law, as well as mandamus, post-conviction relief, and civil rights cases.

Over the years, Mr. Walter has been an Assistant Attorney General in Illinois, a special prosecutor appointed by the court, and an attorney in private practice. He is also a former paramedic and Illinois Army National Guard sergeant.
