IC basketball teams up for tornado relief

12.04.2018

Illinois College men's and women's basketball are donating all admission proceeds from Wednesday's games to help the Taylorville community after tornadoes caused widespread damage on Saturday.

Illinois College will face Monmouth College in Sherman Gymnasium with the Lady Blues game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the Blueboys playing at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will also be accepting additional monetary donations to help the relief efforts.

Ben Kettelkamp '20 of the Illinois College baseball team is a native of Taylorville. He is leading the on-campus charge to collect non-perishable food items, clothing and toys. Those items will also be accepted on Wednesday night in the concourse of the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center. A donation box will remain at the control desk in the Bruner until Sunday night.
