Scarlett Lin Latt '18
Scarlett Lin Latt `18 found the most unique aspect of her education at Illinois College to be the large number of leadership opportunities available to all students.
Scarlett said the communication skills and knowledge she has gained as an IC Connections leader, student ambassador and by starting her own student organization focusing on health and fitness have taught her lifelong lessons that will help her establish her career. She credits her experience job shadowing as helping her clarify her career goals and gain confidence in her field. Scarlett is currently enrolled at Baylor University earning her Ph.D. in exercise science and nutrition.
“When I came to IC, I had a career path that I thought I wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there. I shadowed at Heritage Health which really helped me filter exactly what I wanted to do. Job shadowing is so important. It was a valuable experience for me and I’ve had the support and guidance of the Illinois College staff to help me have opportunities that prepare me for the career I want to have.”
