Lisset Perez Carapia '19
Lisset Perez Carapia ’19, believes the research opportunities IC provided fueled her love for science.
From the professors in the science department giving her support, to the members of Nuestra Casa providing her comfort and her peers in Sigma Phi Epsilon offering companionship, Lisset felt right at home at IC.
When Lisset got to IC she had always had a knack for science, but she was still undecided on her major. The ability to work directly with faculty in the lab helped solidify her decision to major in biochemistry on a pre-med track. Lisset had the opportunity to present her research at the National Chemistry Conference in Orlando which she believes helped her gain confidence in public speaking and critical thinking skills.
