11:30 a.m. | Lunch

Enjoy lunch in the Cumming Dining Hall before sessions begin. This is also a great time to stop by the IC Store to stock up on all the IC gear you’ll need for everything IC!

12:15 p.m. | Your First-Year Experience
Sibert Theatre, McGaw Fine Arts Center

You will learn about what makes an IC education unique and how we get our incoming students ready to be part of the vibrant academic community at Illinois College.

Family Sessions

You will participate in each of these sessions throughout the afternoon of READY, Set, Go!

  • Barnes House Family Reception
Join faculty and staff for a reception at Barnes House, the residence of the college president. Take some time to unwind, enjoy some snacks, beer/wine/soda and meet other parents and family members of future Illinois College students.

  • REAL Talk
Unknowns can be frightening, however, being knowledgeable can ease those fears. Please join us for a Real Talk about what your student may encounter in college and the ways Illinois College assists your student. You will receive tips and tricks on how to have difficult conversations before your student begins their journey at IC. Be prepared for frank discussions about alcohol/drugs, mental health, sexual assault, and more.

  • Fun for the Whole Family
We know that helping your student transition to college can be challenging - so we've created fun activities to help you learn how IC supports students through the transition and how you can help!
