Jose Gobbo Trio to perform in Fine Arts Series at Illinois College

Illinois College will host Jose Gobbo Trio at Rammelkamp Chapel on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 3 p.m.

The Illinois College Fine Arts Series will conclude its 44th season with an exciting new group of friends, the Jose Gobbo Trio. The Jose Gobbo Trio is an equilateral triangle featuring Gobbo on guitar, Max Beckman on bass, and Jay Ferguson on drums. Individually, the musicians have performed around the world, including Brazil, Japan, and the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Praised for their “adventurous solos grounded in the jazz traditions” and “in-the pocket drumming” by Jazz Today, Gobbo and Ferguson are featured on Chip Stephen’s Organ Trio album “Transgressions”. Complemented by Beckman’s versatile and dynamic bass, this trio will have you grooving, body and soul, in this final concert of the season.

Individual tickets for the Illinois College Fine Arts Series are $20 each. As always, students of all ages and children are admitted free of charge to all concerts.Tickets are available for purchase in advance by phone at 217.245.3192 or at the door on event day.
