A season of strength
of success established over the past decade. The season was defined by programmatic firsts, milestone victories, sustained postseason appearances and individual
honors that reflected both competitive depth and departmental momentum.
Leading the way was the women’s soccer program, which achieved a historic breakthrough by qualifying for the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time in program history. The Lady Blues closed the regular season with a 10–7–2 overall record, highlighted by a 6–2 mark in conference play. Those six conference wins represent the most in a single season in program annals and signaled a major step forward for a team that has steadily built toward sustained competitiveness within the league.
The football program continued its recent run of success with an 8–3 season that concluded with an appearance in the Lakefront Bowl. The postseason berth marked the Blueboys’ second bowl appearance in the past three years, underscoring the program’s consistency and growth. Over that same threeyear span, IC football has posted 25 wins, tying the winningest three-year stretch in program history and reinforcing the Blueboys’ status as a perennial contender in the Midwest Conference.
Volleyball extended one of the most impressive streaks in athletics, earning a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament for the seventh consecutive season. The Lady Blues once again demonstrated the depth, resilience and consistency that have become hallmarks of the program, maintaining its place among the conference’s most reliable postseason teams.
Women’s tennis added to the fall’s postseason success by qualifying for the Midwest Conference Team Tournament for the fourth straight year. The continued tournament presence reflects steady development and competitive balance, as the program has established itself as a regular fixture in the conference championship picture.
The men’s soccer program also continued to build on a proven formula for success. Over the past three seasons, the Blueboys have compiled a 15–4–5 record in Midwest Conference play, a mark that reflects consistent performance and an ability to compete at a high level year after year.
Outside of traditional varsity competition, the IC Dance team delivered one of the fall’s signature highlights. The team qualified for the National Championships following a strong showing at The Dance Team Union Regional Championships and was further recognized with the specialty “Be Bold” award for artistry and energy. The honor highlighted the team’s creativity and competitive excellence on a national stage.
Team accomplishments were complemented by outstanding individual recognition across the department. In total, 21 IC student-athletes earned All–Midwest Conference honors during the fall season, while nine were named Midwest Conference Performers of the Week. Together, those accolades reflected the talent, preparation, and commitment of IC student-athletes across multiple sports.
Collectively, the Fall of 2025 showcased the continued strength and upward trajectory of Illinois College Athletics. From historic firsts and postseason runs to national recognition and individual honors, the season underscored a culture of excellence that continues to define the Blueboys and Lady Blues.
