"You invest in what you believe in, whether that be with money, time or resources; I believe in Illinois College. Two days after my 18th birthday and right before I was to leave for my first year at IC, my mother passed away. That previous spring, one of our final trips together was to IC for a tour and a Lady Blues basketball game. My mom was so impressed with our student ambassador, JJ Sadler ’10, and the basketball team that she convinced me it was the school for me. She picked IC for me!

I’ll never forget what IC did for me when I arrived on campus a week late due to her funeral. Faculty, coaches and members of the basketball team reached out and my admission counselor walked me around to all of my classes my first day. That’s something that won’t happen on a large campus. It meant so much and will always stay with me. IC gave me some of my best friends, wonderful faculty, a great education and relationships that will last a lifetime. With President Farley now at the helm, the campus is growing and feels revitalized. She’s provided a vision for the campus to rally behind, and I’m proud to be a small part of it.”
