Looking to transfer from Benedictine University-Springfield?
Illinois College is committed to assisting you as you consider your transfer options. We have taken some steps that will enable you to make a smooth transition to IC. All currently enrolled undergraduates at Benedictine University-Springfield who are admitted for transfer to Illinois College will benefit from:
  • $16,650 scholarship that eliminates the difference in cost between Illinois College and BenU-Springfield. Additional need-based aid may also be available
  • Easy transferability of courses. Nearly all 100-level and above coursework completed at BenU-Springfield with a "C" or better will transfer to Illinois College
  • On-the-spot admission, credit evaluation, and registration at one of our Fast Track Transfer Days

Transfer Students

We welcome applications from transfer students who are seeking a challenging liberal arts education. Transfer students may apply for either the fall semester or the spring semester. Completed applications for admission must be submitted by August 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester. Review begins when an application is complete. Follow steps 1-3 below to help guide you on your path to becoming True Blue.
Step 1 :: Submit free application for admission
   :: Apply Online
Step 2 :: Request Official Final High School Transcript to be sent to IC
   :: High school transcript must include final senior year grades
   :: Transcript must indicate date of graduation
Step 3 :: Request Official College Transcript of all college coursework attempted
   :: Student who attended more than one college must submit official transcripts from each
The specific minimum requirements for transfer students include the following:
   :: Graduation from an accredited four-year high school or the equivalent with at least 15
      units of credit
   :: Verification of good academic standing at the institution from which the applicant wishes to
   :: A minimum 2.5 GPA for their most recent full time semester of college- level course work
      and a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA for all college level coursework attempted
   :: A minimum of 24 transferable credits completed. If 24 credits have not been completed,
      the student’s high school record will also be evaluated

Fast Track Transfer Days - Streamlining the Transfer Process

It is time to take the next step in your education. Our "Fast Track Transfer Days" are designed to streamline the transfer process and remove the stress and frustration of waiting for an admission decision or receiving your financial aid award. The admission staff will review your application on the spot and provide you with an immediate admission decision on your transfer application to Illinois College. You can receive an estimated financial aid award before you leave campus if you have your FAFSA on file with Illinois College (code: 001688). You can also register for fall classes if you have submitted your deposit or if you submit your deposit during the Transfer Day.
Fast Track Transfer Days
:: Friday, April 24 1-4 p.m.
:: Monday, April 27 1-4 p.m.
:: Monday, May 11 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
:: Friday, May 22 1-4 p.m.
Follow these steps to attend Fast Track Transfer Days:
Step 1 :: Register for the day
Step 2 :: Apply for admission online at least two days prior to your scheduled appointment
Step 3 :: Bring official and sealed transcripts of all colleges/universities you attended
(including dual-credit during high school)
Step 4 :: Bring your official and sealed high school transcript
Step 5 :: Have your FAFSA sent to Illinois College (code: 001688) two days prior to your appointment
Step 6 :: Leave campus with an admission decision, estimated financial aid award, and class
After you are admitted, you will meet with an admission counselor to have a preliminary review of how your prior credits will transfer. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions regarding financial aid, paying your enrollment deposit, applying for housing, scheduling classes, and any other issues you need to tackle in order to make your enrollment decision.
