Transfer Students
	We welcome applications from transfer students who are seeking a challenging liberal arts education. Transfer students may apply for either the fall semester or the spring semester. Completed applications for admission must be submitted by August 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester. Review begins when an application is complete. Follow steps 1-3 below to help guide you on your path to becoming True Blue.   Step 1 :: Submit free application for admission    :: Apply Online    :: Apply online with the Common Application    :: Download and print the paper application   Step 2 :: Request Official Final High School Transcript to be sent to IC    :: High school transcript must include final senior year grades    :: Transcript must indicate date of graduation   Step 3 :: Request Official College Transcript of all college coursework attempted    :: Student who attended more than one college must submit official transcripts from each       institution.   The specific minimum requirements for transfer students include the following:    :: Graduation from an accredited four-year high school or the equivalent with at least 15       units of credit    :: Verification of good academic standing at the institution from which the applicant wishes to       transfer    :: A minimum 2.5 GPA for their most recent full time semester of college- level course work       and a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA for all college level coursework attempted    :: A minimum of 24 transferable credits completed. 	Transfer Credits
	Illinois College accepts transfer credits from accredited institutions of higher education for coursework equivalent to coursework offered at Illinois College. In general undergraduate academic coursework with a grade of C- or better is transferrable to Illinois College while vocational and graduate course work is not because Illinois College does not offer work in these areas. Application of the coursework within each major is determined by that academic program. The grades earned on transfer work do not count toward the grade point average of at Illinois College. The Registrar’s office can evaluate transfer credits and provide an assessment of what will transfer and how it will apply toward an Illinois College degree. Some additional rules apply to transfer work taken by students after enrollment at Illinois College, most notably a limit on the number of transfer courses taken under non-traditional methods of delivery after enrolling at IC. No more than 66 hours of transfer work from two-year colleges or equivalent institutions may be counted toward an Illinois College degree. Students must earn at least 36 semester hours of academic credit at Illinois College, with 24 of the last 30 completed in residence. For the purpose of determining satisfactory academic progress, each 15 hours of transfer or other non-institutional credits counts as one full-time semester. Illinois College accepts credits earned by dual-enrollment, provided the credits are presented on the transcript of an accredited institution of higher education. Illinois College also accepts Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, CLEP and other work based on testing, based on its evaluation of the test scores. In no case does Illinois College allow double-dipping (e.g., credit for both the AP test results and a dual credit high school course in the same area would not be allowed). 	Transfer Guides
	In most cases credit is awarded for courses taken at regionally accredited institutions which have content similar to courses offered at Illinois College. No credit is given for any coursework for which the student received a grade of C- or below. Final evaluation of transfer credit resides with the Office of the Registrar and the Dean of the College. Transfer students must request that an official final transcript be sent to Illinois College prior to starting classes.
