Generosity helps students dream bigger
This summer, Trish and Jon turned their gratitude for their own educational experiences into an opportunity for a new generation of students by establishing the Trish Reynolds and Jon Daigle Scholarship at Illinois College.
Using their donor-advised fund, Trish and Jon will provide scholarship assistance for incoming Illinois College students. They shaped the scholarship to be given to graduates of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, which Trish attended in Springfield. The scholarship reflects the meaningful connection between the high school and the college that helped shape the person she became.
For Trish, Illinois College provided the kind of undergraduate experience she and Jon hope other young people will have the opportunity to discover. Both remember their college years positively and believe deeply in the power of higher education to broaden perspectives, encourage personal growth and give students the confidence to dream bigger.
That belief is reflected directly in the scholarship they created. Trish and Jon hope it provides the self-confidence needed “to dream big,” achieve professional goals and contribute meaningfully to one’s community. Their gift offers far more than financial assistance; it is an investment in what a student might become.
For Trish and Jon, this is not simply a one-time gesture. Their intention to make annual gifts means students will benefit from their generosity year after year.
Each scholarship recipient will bring unique dreams to Illinois College, but each will dream bigger because of one couple’s generous vision. Thanks to Trish and Jon, each will arrive knowing that two people they may never have met believed enough in them to help open the door.
