Professor connects students to learning opportunities through research

Zachary Goldman, assistant professor of communication and rhetorical studies, says that being among the top one percent of published communication scholars worldwide has allowed him to be a better educator at Illinois College.

Coordinator of Agribusiness Michael Woods wanted to capture the excitement and momentum of this important moment for the College by documenting the occasion. He invited Provost and Dean of the College Catharine O'Connell and Associate Professor of Accounting John Rush, who also serves as chair of the economics, accounting and finance department, to attend the first class session of the introduction course.

Woods said he is pleased with the response from students, alumni and the entire Illinois College community, which has displayed a willingness to embrace program growth and new opportunities for current and future students to find success in a wider range of fields.

“If current enrollment in the course and the exceptional response from potential students to start in the fall are any indicators, we are off to an amazing start,” said Woods.

A record of students who attended the class along with a group photo will be housed for future generations within IC’s Khalaf Al Habtoor Archives.
