The senior will earn her degree in communication and rhetorical studies and has been a four-year member of women’s soccer and swimming. She also keeps busy by being involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, IC Scholars honors program, residential life, summer research and as president of Gamma Delta literary society.

Isham said that she gained many benefits by being able to be with her teammates and coaches this semester — even with social distancing and other restrictions.

“Being a student-athlete has helped me in so many ways. It has helped me balance my time, prioritize and plan ahead,” she said. “Playing sports has taught me how to respond to failure and how to grow, learn and adapt from it. You can’t win every game but there are great takeaways and little victories all the time.”
