Karen Homolka

Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Student Activities

Karen came to Illinois College in July 1998. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Student Personnel with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from Minnesota State University – Mankato. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. Karen is responsible for overseeing all the programs within the Student Activities Center and she coordinates IC Connections: The Illinois College First Year Experience for new students and their families.

Dorothy Trutter

Administrative Assistant in Student Center

Dorothy started her Illinois College career in August 1986 working for what was then called the Templeton Career and Counseling Center. Throughout her many years, she has provided valuable support for many different areas within Student Affairs. She received an Associate's Degree from Illinois Business College. Currently working full time in the Student Activities Center, she is responsible for managing the day-to-day office operations, coordinating the student workers, working with the literary societies on their judged meetings and literary awards, co-editing the IC Preview weekly newsletter and a variety of other projects. Dorothy is also responsible for coordinating credential files for current education students as well as alumni.
