COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Since 1993, new students at Illinois College have engaged in a Community Service Blitz during their first week of school. New students and faculty members spend a day immersed in the Jacksonville community making a difference and joining in the tradition of sharing and caring. It is a great chance to build bridges and become engaged in the surrounding community.
To continue IC Connections, first year students are also encouraged to participate in the "IC Serves" community service program throughout the school year. A variety of different service opportunities are planned with a wide range of groups and agencies -- Special Olympics, National Down Syndrome Society, American Heart Walk, the Underground Railroad site - Woodlawn Farm, Habitat for Humanity, etc.
If you have any questions regarding the Community Service Blitz or "IC Serves", please call the Student Activities Center at (217) 245-3094 or email connect@ic.edu.
