Dean Tobin works closely with President Farley on strategic planning and campus-wide initiatives. She oversees the Dean of the Faculty and Dean of Student Success, Schewe Library, the Registrar’s Office, the Office of Institutional Research, the Masters in Education Program, the Center for Leadership and Service, and Information Technology. Dean Tobin also serves on the Retention, Tenure, and Promotion committee, Assessment Committee, and works closely with departments having external reviews. Dean Tobin is a scholar of German history, has taught at the college-level for 27 years, and has worked at many levels of college administration. She earned her BA from Swarthmore College in 1973 and her Ph.D. in History from Princeton University in 1984.

Adam PorterAdam Porter
Dean of the Faculty and Professor of Religion

Dean Porter oversees the faculty and the curriculum. He organizes and leads the Convocation series, helps students obtain fellowships and apply for graduate schools, and collaborates with a wide variety of faculty and students on the issues of the day. Dean Porter serves on the Curriculum Review Committee, the Educational Policies Committee, and the Faculty Assessment Committee. He works closely with faculty on issues related to hiring, evaluations, and faculty governance. Dean Porter is a Professor of Religion and has been at Illinois College since 2000. Professor Porter received his B.A. from Oberlin College, his M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School and his Ph.D. from Duke University.

Andrew JonesAndrew Jones
Dean of Student Success

Dean Jones works with students facing academic or personal difficulties, chairs the Early Intervention Committee, and coordinates the Dorothy Foster Society. He also oversees the Center for Academic Excellence, the Writing and Speech Communication Centers, and the Study Abroad and BreakAway Office. Dean Jones is Assistant Professor of Education and Gender & Women’s Studies and has been at Illinois College since 2008. He received his B.M. in Music Education and M.S. in Education Administration from Butler University and his Ed.D. in higher education administration from Indiana University.

Elise works closely with Deans Tobin, Porter, and Jones,  especially on issues relating to the faculty. Her responsibilities include working with Dean Tobin on departmental budgets, tracking expenditures for faculty awards and grants and student/faculty research, the Convocation program, faculty committees, faculty development, and faculty searches. She supervises the academic support staff.

Donna Vasquez-O'BrienDonna Vasquez-O'Brien
Administrative Assistant

Donna works closely with Deans Tobin, Porter and Jones especially on issues relating to students. Her responsibilities include administering the Convocation Committee, Curriculum Review Committee, and Educational Policies Committee. She also monitors course evaluations, notifications concerning departures, academic status changes, contracts for incomplete grades, and advanced placement scores. She organizes the meeting schedules for Deans Porter and Jones.

Helen KuhnHelen Kuhn

Helen joined the Office of the Registrar in 2004. She is responsible for managing course scheduling and registration, ensuring students meet graduation requirements, and developing educational policies in compliance with state and federal guidelines.  She earned her B.S. in Engineering from Northwestern University.

Diane SeufertDiane Seufert
Assistant Registrar

Diane provides technical support for the office, including the database management for the BLUEprint, Illinois College’s general education program. She assists with registration, orientation, course articulation for transfer students, and editing the college catalog. Diane joined the office in 2002. She earned her B.S. in Management Information Systems from MacMurray College.

Lana SheaLana Shea
Academic Records Coordinator

Lana joined the Registar's Office in 2014 after thirty years of providing educational IT support.   She earned her B.A. in Education from MacMurray College and her M.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Springfield.  Lana's priorities include the office's academic records.
