Addie GramelspacherInstructor of Voice
Soprano Addie Gramelspacher currently teaches voice at Illinois College.
Her diverse career
includes solo recitals, oratorio work, and appearances as a soloist with
orchestras and chamber
ensembles. Recent career highlights include an all-Bach concert with organist
William Neil of the National Symphony Orchestra and a performance as soprano soloist with
the New York-based Ethos Percussion Group. An avid supporter of new music, Ms. Gramelspacher performed as soprano
soloist in Henry
Mollicone's Beatitude Mass with the composer as conductor in 2009. She has sung
recently with such orchestras as the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and the
St. Charles
Symphony. Abroad, Ms. Gramelspacher has made concert appearances in Italy and Austria.
Why I love to teach music:
I think music makes us more human and more sensitive to the world around us.
It lifts us up and connects us with something greater than ourselves, with God
and the universe.
