Financial Aid Checklist
The Office of Financial Aid encourages families to keep track of all financial aid activity. By completing the following checklist, you may eliminate some of the frustration often associated with the financial aid process. Remember to keep copies of materials you submit.

Checked with high school guidance counselor for scholarship opportunities
Applied for private or outside scholarships
Checked online for scholarships

Submitted application for admission to the Office of Admission
JANUARY - MARCH
Completed and submitted the FAFSA
Listed Illinois College in the College Release Section
(Illinois College code: 001688)
Note: Illinois residents will be automatically considered for the IL MAP Grant.
Reported the correct social security number
Completed all sections
Signed and dated application, submitted the FAFSA by March 1
Paid enrollment deposit to the Office of Admission
MARCH - APRIL
Received Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor
Read the instructions and reviewed for accuracy.
Returned all additional information requested to the Office of Financial Aid
Note: you may not be asked to submit additional information
Received the Financial Aid Award Letter
APRIL - JUNE
Accepted, signed and returned the Financial Aid Acceptance Form
Completed the electronic Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling (first-time borrowers only)
