Literary Societies at Illinois College pride themselves on excellence in academics, Literary Productions and community service. Below is the list of the current year's awards and achievements.
The Theron Baldwin Service Award
Presented to the literary society (men or women) that has carried out the best overall program of service to the College, the Jacksonville Community, and to the world community in general during the current academic year. It is significant award in that it is named for Theron Baldwin, whose inspirational speech to the Society of Inquiry Respecting Missions on November 25, 1828, led directly to the formation of the Yale Band and the founding of Illinois College.
The Baldwin Cup was presented to Illinois College Community by members of the faculty in 1987.

Best of the Best
A traveling trophy that is given each year in May to the best production piece. Each society chooses an active member to represent them and is given 6 minutes to to perform a production that is judged as a representation of their group.
Pi Pi Rho Academic Award
Awarded each semester to the society with the highest overall grade point average for the current term (not cumulative).
The Emory Whipple Literary Award
Awarded each semester to the critic and the society for the best overall score for judged meetings. Given in honor of Emory Whipple, the late husband of Professor Naomi Hahn, to recognize outstanding literary accomplishment within the men’s literary society system.

The Dean’s Cup for Literary Excellence
Awarded each year for outstanding literary accomplishment within the men’s literary society system. Determined by adding all of the judged meeting scores, the best overall score wins.
Martin Hahn Critic’s Award
Awarded each year to the best critic overall from the year and is determined by adding the critic’s scores for the year.

Grade Point Average Award
Awarded each semester to the women’s society with the highest overall grade point average for the current tern (not cumulative).
- Spring 2012 - Sigma Phi Epsilon
The Love Cup
Awarded each year for outstanding literary accomplishment within the women’s literary society system.Determined by the best percentage of total points (based on judges’ forms) for all of the judged meetings.
Gertrude Hahn Vice President’s Award
Awarded each year to the best women's vice president.
