Spring 2012 TRiO Workshop Schedule
In addition to the seven workshops listed below, we also offered a Financial Literacy Workshop series and several Research Writing Help Sessions.

     Resume and Cover Letter Workshop 
     Create effective resumes and cover letters--geared toward the internship deadlines!

2) Tuesday, February 7th: 4:00-5:00 (Baxter 100)
    FAFSA Workshop
    Financial Aid representative will walk you through the FAFSA completion process!  
 
3) Wednesday, February 15th: 4:00-5:00 (Kirby 108)
    Time Management Workshop
    Learn essential strategies to help complete your school and still have plenty of time for
    yourself! 
 
4)  Monday, February 20th: 4:30-5:30 (Baxter 100)
     Major and Career Exploration Workshop: Skills
     Find out how to utilize and translate your skills to help you make more informed major and   
     career decisions!
 
5)  Wednesday, April 11th: 4:00-5:00 (Kirby 108)
     Graduate School Preparation
     Get a head start on learning how to explore graduate school programs that best fit your career
     goals!
 
6)  Wednesday, April 25th: 4:30-5:30 (Kirby 108)
     Memory Enhancement Workshop
     Specific training, skills, and techniques to help you remember information more quickly and
     efficiently!
 
7)  Tuesday, May 1st: 4:30-5:30 (Kirby 108)
     An Inside Look at the Internship Process
     A graduating IC senior's account of and advise on how to navigate the internship process!
 
 
Financial Literacy Workshop Series
For the Spring 2012, TRiO students were required to attend one of the following three financial literacy workshops in addition to one of the workshops listed above (*note: attendance to one financial literacy workshop is was required in order to be eligible for the TRiO Grant Aid Scholarship!).

     Financial Literacy Workshop
     Presented by IC Accounting Professor, Nausser Jamali! 
 
2)  Thursday, March 22nd: 4:00-5:00 (Schewe 210)
     Financial Literacy Workshop
     Presented by M.s Laura Marx of Jacksonville Savings Bank!  
 
3)  Tuesday, March 27th: 7:00-8:00 p.m. (Schewe 210)
     Financial Literacy Workshop
     Presented by Ms. Kristan Becker Hofman of Farmer's State Bank! 
 
 
Research Writing Help Sessions
During the Spring 2012 semester, the TRiO program offered several Research Writing Help Sessions in conjunction with the campus Writing Center and the Schewe Library in order to provide our students with the resources and help they needed to successfully compose their various research projects. All those who participated were eligible to win a free book. The sessions also counted for TRiO workshop credit.
