Hal Elrod will share his “Taking Life Head On” message to Illinois College on Friday, February 24, at 7 p.m. in McGaw Fine Arts Center's Sibert Theatre.

 

Elrod has been known as “Yo Pal” Hal since hosting his first radio show at age 15. He became a national record-breaking sales representative for a $200 million marketing company at age 19, but his real triumph came at age 20 when he was hit head on by a drunk driver and found dead but recovered after six minutes of CPR and defibrillation.

Defying the logic of doctors, he bounced back to become a best-selling author, youth and college motivational speaker, international success coach, ultra-marathon runner, and proud husband and father.

Elrod has appeared on dozens of television and radio shows across the country, and his story was featured in the all-time bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul book series. His best-selling book is titled Taking Life Head On! He is also the creator of “The Miracle Morning,” a video which is dubbed “The not-so-obvious secret guaranteed to change your entire life ... before 8 a.m.!”
