Prominent writer on foreign policy to speak at IC
A longtime observer of high-level diplomacy will be speaking at Illinois College on Thursday, December 8.

David Shorr, a program officer at the Stanley Foundation, recently attended the G-20 meeting in Europe and will share his experience to the college community. His presentation, “The G-20 Committee of Powerful Nations – How Are They Doing?,” will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Cummings Dining Hall.

Shorr is a prominent writer on foreign policy and offers regular commentary online for the Democracy Arsenal and TPMCafé. Two recent projects led by Shorr have been published as edited volumes: Powers & Principles: International Leadership in a Shrinking World, which outlines how pivotal powers could strengthen the rules-based international order, and Bridging the Foreign Policy Divide, a collection of bipartisan essays. Before the Stanley Foundation, he worked many years in Washington, D.C., with leading think tanks and advocacy groups on foreign policy.

Shorr’s presentation is free and open to the public.
