Dr. Elwood, is currently part of the interdisciplinary programs in Management and Organizational Leadership and in Environmental Biology at Illinois College. Over the past 35 years he has worked in the areas of Critical Thinking, Mental Retardation, and Experiential Learning. Currently he teaches courses and seminars in (among other areas) Sports Psychology, Ecological Psychology, and Recreation. He is also an avid kayaker. Elizabeth Rellinger-Zettler

Dr. Rellinger Zetter is a developmental psychologist who currently
teaches courses in child and lifespan development, adolescent
psychology, personality and individual differences, social psychology and careers in psychology. Since coming to Illinois College, she has worked with students to conduct research in many areas including: interpersonal relationships, self-injurious behaviors, learning styles and attitudes towards learning, and gender issues. Her students regularly volunteer for and do internships with
Big Brothers/Big Sisters,
Best Buddies, The Jacksonville Developmental Center, and the Western Illinois Youth Camp. She is a member of these professional organizations:
Psi Chi, the
Council on Undergraduate Research, the
Association for Psychogical Science, the
Society for Research in Child Development, and the
International Positive Psychology Association.

Dr. Turner is a behavioral neuroscientist with teaching interests in brain and behavior, experimental design and statistics, drugs & behavior, health psychology, learning and evolutionary psychology. Since coming to Illinois College, he has worked with students to conduct research in the areas of tinnitus (ringing in the ears), age-related hearing loss, brain aging, and evolution. He is also a part-time research professor at
Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. His research on tinnitus has been supported by the NIH, the Tinnitus Research Consortium, and through research contracts with pharmaceutical companies. He
is a member of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, and a member of the editorial review board for the scientific journals of Comparative Medicine and the Journal of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
