The 2010 Illinois College Women's Soccer team will have a dramatic new look this season. Taking the helm of the Lady Blues is new coach Becky Golas. Golas brings tremendous experience and leadership to the Lady Blues as she has served as an assistant at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels.

The 2010 squad will feature a rejuvenated commitment to playing at a highly competitive level. The focus will be on organization with a dedication to competing for a full 90 minutes. The team looks to improve upon earlier years successes and to capitalize on previously missed opportunities.

This year's defense will be led by returners Kirsten Lockenour and Jess Weier. Sophomores Shaina Conwell, Anna Zimmer, and junior Carla Lopez will look to control the midfield and keep play organized. Junior Abby West and sophomore Rachel Schuchman bring much needed experience as transfers to Illinois College. Freshman Lindsey Koch and Katie Greenberg will help anchor the defensive line, while Taylor Triplo, Ana Medina, and Maddie Ericson are expected to contribute in much needed ways offensively.

Returners Courtney Mersinger and Kelly Rehr, along with newcomers Libby Farrell, Lauren Reece, Jessica Bartlett, and Cara Carter, are expected to make an immediate impact as IC looks to establish itself as a legitimate conference contender.
