BreakAways are group trips, led by IC faculty, which take place when classes are not in session. These trips have a specific focus and are from ten days to three weeks long. On average four different BreakAways are offered during any one academic year. Destinations are announced in March of the preceding academic year. In order to participate, students need to apply and also register for the respective course during the semester when the trip preparations take place.

Due dates for BreakAway applications are Oct. 1 (for Spring break trips), and Nov. 1 (for trips after the close of Spring semester). The first down payment is due Oct. 15 and Nov. 15, respectively.
