One-year position in the Department of Music. Responsibilities include conducting the College’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, teaching instrumental methods courses and first-year Music Theory, if possible. Additional responsibilities include working with the department and admissions on recruitment and tours. Candidates must have an earned master’s degree. Candidates with a doctorate (or ABD) or K-12 teaching experience will be preferred. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Illinois College, founded in 1829 as the first college in Illinois, is a private liberal arts institution. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment.
