Two high energy spirit squads are an integral part of many Illinois College athletic competitions. Known for the quality and athleticism of their routines and dance, the Illinois College spirit squads are open to both men and women. The cheerleading squad and dance team perform regularly at home football games, men’s and women’s basketball games, and special events on campus and in the Jacksonville community. Members also attend summer camps.
Tiffany Gehrke, a 2000 Illinois College graduate, is the spirit coordinator and directs both the cheerleading squad and dance team. Prior to returning to IC, she was most recently the dance coach at Valparaiso University.
The long range plan is for both the cheerleading and dance squads to enter various competitions.
