Head Coach Shane Taylor

Head Coach Shane Taylor has installed the building blocks of what he feels will become a strong and successful men’s soccer program at Illinois College. He begins his third season at the helm in 2007 with a roster that features some of the most talented individuals to wear a Blueboy jersey, and their ability to mesh as a unit will have a significant impact upon the team’s prospects during the coming months.

Taylor has compiled impressive credentials as a player and as a coach. His resume includes 16 seasons of competitive play along with 10 years of coaching experience. Taylor has earned two NSCAA diplomas, and guided previous teams to success at the regional and advanced levels of play. He played soccer at the semi-pro level for in Las Vegas after completing his intercollegiate career at Bethany (Kan.) College and East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University. Taylor has coached soccer at the club and age-group level in Oklahoma, Nevada and Kansas.

His two previous IC teams have demonstrated a knack for tight defense and all-out hustle, and the results have led to a pair of victories over MacMurray College in the annual Mayor’s Cup contest. His immediate goal is to field a squad that can compete on even terms against the best teams in the Midwest Conference.
