2018 Illinois College Family Day

The Illinois College Student Activities Board is excited to invite everyone to campus for our annual Illinois College Family Day festivities. See below for information regarding frequently asked questions. We hope to see you Saturday, September 29!

Registration
We ask all guests to pre-register online to assist in our planning efforts. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR IC STUDENT(S). All guests wishing to join us for lunch or wanting to purchase an IC Family Day t-shirt must pre-register online by SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 (Lunch is not covered under your student's meal plan). All shirts MUST be picked up during check-in on Family Day (September 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

FAMILY DAY EVENT SCHEDULE

10 am
Farley Forum with Families - Kirby Hall 006
Take some time to hear from President Farley and Provost O'Connell! They will share about the most recent updates and future direction of the College.

10:30am to 1pm
Brunch available in Cummings Dining Hall
Enjoy brunch with your student. IC students can swipe for their meals. Guests pay $8 at the door.

11am to 12 noon
Concert - Rammelkamp Chapel
Enjoy the Illinois College Music Department ensembles as they perform their annual Family Day Concert.

Men’s Soccer vs. Lawrence University - Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center-Green Athletic Field
Take time to cheer for our very own Blueboys as they go against the Vikings here at home!

11:30am to 3pm
Family Day Check-in - Lincoln Parking Lot
Please check-in at the Lincoln Hall Parking Lot. You will receive an IC Store coupon and the day’s schedule of events as well as campus and community maps. Pre-ordered lunch tickets and/or Family Day T-shirts will also be available for pick up.

11:30 to 3pm
Yard games, arts & crafts and board games - Lincoln Parking Lot
Challenge your family members to a fun game of bags, washers, beach pong, and more.

12 noon to 6pm
IC Store - Lincoln Hall
Visit the IC Store and use your coupon for 15% off of one regular priced item! Also, check out all the items the store has to offer!

12:30 pm to 2:30pm
Lunch - Lincoln Parking Lot
Choose from an offering of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pizza from one of our local pizzerias in town. Snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Pre-order lunch tickets online.

1pm
Women’s Volleyball vs. Lawrence University - Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center - Sherman Gymnasium
Our very own Lady Blues volleyball team will defend the Hilltop as they take on the Vikings!

1:30pm
Women’s Soccer vs. Lawrence University - Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center - Green Athletic Field
Let’s show our support to the Lady Blues soccer team as they, too, go against the Vikings here at home!

2 to 6pm - Lincoln Parking Lot
Activities
Spend the day on the Hilltop with your family! Your family can’t make it? No worries! This event is open to ALL IC students, no family necessary for participation! Come for the food, prizes and activities like the four-person Eurobungy where you can sore like Peter Pan; defend the kingdom as a knight in an ultimate four-person jousting match, and climb to claim the prize at the top of the tower on our rock wall. Free photobooths by PhotoBeast are available to capture the memories of a magical day!

6 pm
Dinner on the Square!
If you haven’t explored some of our local favorites, today would be a great day to head downtown to the Square. Enjoy some of the best that Downtown Jacksonville has to offer with Leo’s Pizza, Muggsy’s, Mulligan’s, Brickhouse BBQ, Norma’s North Star Cafe, or Schiraz.

Football vs. Beloit College - Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center Green Athletic Field
Come and support the IC Blueboys as they take on the Buccaneers! IC students are FREE with ID. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids.

FAQs

What are my parking options during the event?
Parking is available in parking lots located on Park Street south of Edgehill near the Office of Facilities Management (to the east of the football field) and on Lockwood Place near the McGaw Fine Arts Center. Parking is also allowed Park Street south of Edgehill Road (on the East side of the road).

What are my local hotel options?
There are a few local area hotels in Jacksonville, Illinois. Please visit www.ic.edu/visit/maps for more info.
