Illinois College is committed to diversity in all aspects of campus life. As a liberal arts college, we know that students are better educated and prepared for leading meaningful lives of leadership and service when they have a breadth of knowledge in various areas and opportunities to engage with diverse people. We value and respect differences. We know that we are stronger as a community when these differences bring us together. We strive for understanding, inclusiveness and dialogue in such areas as race, ethnicity, culture, religion, politics and sexual orientation to name a few.
The mission of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is to conduct activities and provide services to create an inclusive environment at Illinois College.
Our goals are to:
- Provide support to traditionally underrepresented students through diverse programming and services.
- Provide involvement opportunities and cultural awareness activities for students, staff and faculty.
- Collaborate to promote a safe, supportive and inclusive campus community that celebrates and respects diversity.
