Connected Courses
Definition

As a foundation for life-long learning, the Connected Courses component of the BLUEprint General Education Program encourages students to think beyond a given discipline, adapting and applying what they have learned in one course to other courses, including those outside of their major discipline of study. Students will discover that what they learn in any particular course can be applied beyond that course in order to understand the world they live in and solve problems. Through this process of applying knowledge and skills from one course in another, students learn to integrate learning into their daily lives beyond the classroom.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of a pair of Connected Courses, students will

1. be able to recognize that what they learn in one course can be relevant to other courses and to other situations beyond the classroom;
2. be able to connect examples, facts, or theories from more than one field of study or perspective;
3. be able to apply knowledge, abilities, theories, or methodologies gained in one situation to new situations to solve problems or explore issues.
