Blueboys Binkley, Jackson earn All-American Track Honors
Illinois College's Dillion Binkley finished third in the men's high jump Saturday (March 14) at the 2009 NCAA Division III men's and women's indoor track and field championships.
Illinois College received a second all-america performance when D.J. Jackson placed sixth in the men's long jump. Katie Miller, Illinois College's third national qualifier finished 11th in the women's long jump.
Binkley a sophomore and Warrensburg-Latham High School graduate, jumped 6-8 3/4 and had fewer misses than three other jumpers who cleared the same height. Jackson, a junior from Webster Groves, MO., leaperd 23-0 3/4 to finish sixth in a field of 14 entries in the men's long jump. In the women's long jump, Miller, a senior from Paloma (Camp Point Central), covered 17-3 1/2.
Thanks to Binkley's third-place finish and Jackson's sixth-place, the Blueboys compiled nine points and finished 24th out of 74 teams represented at the meet.
