11th Bill Merris Tournament
This year's Bill Merris tournament is once again sponsored by the Jacksonville Hampton Inn and will be held November 20-21 (Fri-Sat). The tournament is in honor of legendary former Blueboy basketball coach Bill Merris. Merris was the head IC skipper for 38 years. Milwaukee School of Engineering will be making its first appearance in the tournament while Nebraska Wesleyan (twice) and Simpson (three times) return in 2009.
Illinois College has won the last three Merris Tournaments defeating Dominican (2005), Benedictine (2008), MSOE (2009).
