The Advancement Office of Illinois College records all gifts to the College. The Annual Fund (unrestricted and current restricted gifts) supports the general operating budget and provides for our students on a daily basis. Major gifts ($10,000 or more to the endowment or capital projects) fund awards and scholarships for our students and faculty, and the construction and remodeling of facilities. Planned gifts take the form of gift annuities, trusts or bequests and often fund endowed scholarships, faculty chairs or help to build the general endowment.
Last year 25% of our alumni made a gift to the College. Gifts of all size are welcome as they collectively impact the quality education we offer our students. On behalf of the 1,000+ students enrolled this fall, we thank you for your past gifts and hope your support will continue.
Julian Monson Sturtevant, the College’s first professor told the first nine students of Illinois College on opening day of classes, “…that we had come there that morning to open a fountain for future generations to drink at.” With the continued support of our alumni and friends, the fountain will continue to flow for generations to come.
