KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program

The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program is looking for high school seniors with entrepreneurial drive, strong perseverance, demonstrated financial need, and who want to pursue a college education at an accredited public institution in the state they reside.
The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program is about you, your dreams and aspirations, and the perseverance to succeed. Margaret Keldie Scholarship Fund

Scholarships to full-time and part-time Junior, Senior, and Graduate students are available to women students intending to pursue a career in accounting. They are offered by the Margaret Keldie Scholarship Fund, which is supported by the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants. The Purpose of these scholarships is to encourage capable women to continue their accounting studies.
Selection criteria include the student’s academic record and potential contribution to the accounting profession. Selection is also based on review of the college transcript and required reference letters, and a personal interview. Applicants are not evaluated on financial need.

The LaVerne Noyes Scholarship

The recipients of the LaVerne Noyes Scholarship must be a descendant of someone who served in World War I. Students must apply and provide written proof they qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship is also restricted to students “needing assistance”.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program

Amount: $1,000 to $5,000
The American Chemical Society sponsors scholarship programs for qualified applicants who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering, and students seeking a two-year degree in chemical technology. The programs are designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology.
The goal of these scholarship programs is to aid in building an awareness of the value and the rewards associated with careers in science and to assist students in acquiring the skills and credentials needed for success in these areas.
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and financial need to high school seniors planning a science preparatory program of study, and college students who are currently freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who are committed to the study of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other chemically related fields such as environmental science, materials science or toxicology and are interested in pursuing careers in one of these fields.
Students interested in two-year chemical technology programs and careers in this field are also eligible. Students must have strong academic records and show an interest in and potential for careers in the chemical sciences. Students intending to pursue careers in medicine are not eligible for scholarship awards.

Ladies Auxiliary Worchid Scholarships

To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be an Illinois High School senior, have taken the ACT or SAT, be a child of a deceased father or mother who was a Veteran of the Untied States who served after September 15, 1940, and was Honorably Discharged. Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship

Amount: $5,000
Students who are planning to become preschool, elementary or secondary school teachers and are of African American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American origin may qualify for up to $5,000 per year as part of the Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program to pay for tuition, fees, and room and board, or commuter allowances, if applicable. This scholarship may be received for a maximum of eight semesters or twelve quarters.

Illinois Future Teachers Corps (IFTC) Program

Students who are planning to be preschool, elementary or secondary school teachers in Illinois may be eligible for the Illinois Future Teacher Corps (IFTC) Program (formerly the David A. DeBolt Teacher Shortage Scholarship Program). This program is generally for academically talented and financially needy students who are enrolled as juniors or above, with a priority given to individuals pursuing a teacher shortage disciplineand/or making a commitment to teach at a hard to staff school, and minority students. This award is designated for tuition, fees and room and board charges, or commuter allowance, if applicable. The annual scholarship awarded to a qualified applicant may be $5,000 or $10,000 (and, in some cases, may be increased an additional $5,000) depending on the teaching commitment made. This scholarship may be received for a maximum of four semesters or six quarters.

The scholarship program is open to full-time or part-time Shopko teammates and their children under the age of 24 (as of July 1, 2008). Applicants who are children of Shopko teammates must be dependent on a Shopko teammate for over 50% of their cost of living. Shopko teammates must have at least one year of continuous service as of January 1 of the year in which the student is applying.
The scholarships are awarded for post-secondary accredited programs. This includes two- or four-year colleges and universities as well as vocational or technical schools. Applicants must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study.

Illinois News Broadcasters Association Honors and Awards Scholarship

Amount: $1,100
INBA offers up to four $1,100 scholarships each year. The money can be used toward the cost of books, tuition or other expenses to be incurred while enrolled as a full-time student or to cover living expenses during an internship at a radio or television station serving an Illinois market.
Based on an application and personal interview, the INBA Honors and Awards Committee will award the scholarships to post high school students who have demonstrated an interest and potential in broadcast news. INBA will also consider financial need and academic performance.

32nd Annual Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition

The Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is offering six scholarships, $4,000, $4,200 & $1,000 to both instrumentalists and vocalists. These scholarships, which are awarded without regard to any other award, may be used for any education related expense.

Senator Vince Demuzio Education Fund Scholarship

Applicants must be an Illinois resident and reside in the 49th Legislative District. Applicants must anticipate receiving a high school diploma during the 07-08 school year, must have applied to an accredited college, university, occupational, technical or education program and must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 or its equivalent.

John L. Carey Scholarships

The Carey Scholarship program provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting. The program provides these scholarships to encourage liberal arts undergraduates to consider professional accounting careers. Up to seven competitive grants of $5,000 per year are awarded to students who show significant potential to become
successful practitioners. The grants are renewable for an additional year of study, provided satisfactory scholastic progress is maintained. Recipients of Carey Scholarships are not precluded from accepting other scholarships or awards.

The Barber Family Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a Pittsfield High School graduating senior in memory of Charles and Frances Barber. The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund was created in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. John Gyles Education Awards

John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavor established in 1990. Those selected will receive up to $3,000.00. Several scholarships are awarded directly to students and a list of recipients is available at the end of each calendar year.
