Internships
We encourage all students to connect their learning in courses with experiential learning, in which they can try to practice what they’ve been learning or try out a job connected to their studies.
Many students complete an internship while at IC. An internship is an arrangement with an employer to learn “on the job” while getting college credit. Interns have faculty supervisors who help students observe carefully the organization they join, reflect on what they’re learning, and see how it connects to course material. Most interns write short papers or keep a journal while interning and finish with a presentation, project, or paper.
