Illinois College Fine Arts

A Fine Arts major consists of a minimum of 30 semester hours of courses in Art, Theatre, and Music with a concentration of at least 15 hours in one of the three disciplines and at least 6 hours in each of the other two. In addition students must plan and present a creative project under the direction of a professor in the area of concentration:
1. Art - create a series of original paintings or other artistic work showing mastery of the major techniques in the artistic medium.
2. Theatre - write and produce a play, or direct and act in a series of plays showing mastery of the techniques involved.
3. Music - present a major musicological study, supervise a musical event, or present a musical recital showing mastery of the techniques involved.

Successful completion of a comprehensive written and/or oral examination demonstrating familiarity with the basic information contained in all three disciplines is also required.
