Schewe Library (1976)


Schewe Library contains over 164,000 volumes in open stacks, subscribes to over 600 journals and houses more than 7,000 microfilm and microfiche. Users have access to numerous online databases as well. Schewe Library is a member of CARLI, the consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois, and the Alliance Library System.

Facilities include an audio-visual room, seminar rooms, and the H. Gary Hudson Faculty Research Room. A Special Collection area contains printed materials relating to Illinois College's history and rare books. A collection of Lincoln items and a collection of Civil War titles also reside in Schewe.
